Scheduling Times (Time Windows & Appointments)

If you need to visit certain stops at specific times — for example Stop C at 8am, A at 10am, and B at 2pm — TrackRoad can optimize the best route schedule and help you arrive on time.

Best for: appointment routing, delivery time windows, service calls, and timed stops.

1) Set vehicle availability (Time In)🔗

In the vehicle form, specify Time In. This defines when the vehicle is available and can begin the route.

2) Add stop arrival times (appointments)🔗

In the stop form, set an Arrival Time for appointment stops. If a stop has no time window, leave it blank — TrackRoad will try to fit it in automatically.

Tip: Stops with time windows are treated as higher priority than no-time stops.

3) Include waiting time (service time)🔗

Each stop can have a waiting time in minutes (service time). TrackRoad adds this to the total schedule and uses it when optimizing appointment routes.

How TrackRoad optimizes time-window routes🔗

TrackRoad routes your timed stops first, then inserts no-time stops where possible — especially when they are on the path between timed appointments.

Time-window routing is powerful because it can reduce idle time and still keep your schedule on track.

Bonus: TrackRoad can tell you exactly how many vehicles are needed. Enter your time-window stops and one vehicle with Start/Finish + Time In/Time Out. When you click Build Route, TrackRoad will generate the number of routes required to meet all appointments.
